TWELFTH NIGHT

BARD ON THE BAY 2026

TWELFTH NIGHT

BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

SYNOPSIS

To celebrate 10 years since Theatre Georgian Bay’s first Bard on the Bay production, the company is thrilled to bring one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies about unrequited love, mistaken identity, music, and sauced-up shenanigans to Collingwood this summer.

Narrowly surviving a shipwreck, Viola finds herself far from home and believes her twin brother Sebastian has fallen victim to the crashing waves. Now alone on a strange island, Viola disguises herself as a man named “Cesario” and enters into the service of Duke Orsino. The Duke longs to woo the Countess Olivia and dispatches the disguised Viola to deliver love letters to the Countess. The plan backfires in classic Shakespeare fashion as Olivia falls for Cesario, whose heart now belongs to Orsino. Unbeknownst to Viola, her twin brother miraculously appears followed by complications and hijinks that pull everyone to the play’s peak!
